Nurse Assistant Medication Administration Course
In September, we hosted an intensive three-week Medication Administration course for Nurse Assistants at Peqqissaanermik Ilinniarfik. The course was designed to enhance the participants' skills in medication calculations and administration, critical for patient care in healthcare settings.
Each participant committed to daily sessions, where they engaged with both theoretical and practical aspects of medication administration. The course was structured to accommodate the learning needs of all participants, incorporating interactive learning methods, including game-based activities, to simplifying complex calculation concepts.
Recognizing the emotional and physical demands of an intensive learning environment, especially for those away from their families, we prioritized emotional well-being and team cohesion. Each day began with an opportunity for participants to share their feelings and experiences, an exercise that proved to be a cornerstone of our strong group dynamic.
An integral part of the course was preparing the nurse assistants for their final exams. This involved reviewing previous examination papers and aligning them with the course materials to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the coursework.
As a result of these efforts, we are proud that every participant passed the final examination. This success not only demonstrates the effectiveness of the course design but also the dedication and hard work of the nurse assistants.
We are not only proud of the 100% pass rate but also of the supportive learning environment we fostered. The feedback from our nurse assistants has been instrumental in refining our teaching methods and will guide the enhancement of future courses.
As these skilled professionals return to their roles, they carry with them not just new knowledge but also the shared experiences of their time in Nuuk. We congratulate them on their success and look forward to their contributions to patient care in their communities.
